Deluxe has supported national broadcaster, SBS, to successfully bring the world’s greatest sporting tournament, the 2018 FIFA World CupTM to Australians on free-to-air television and SBS’s online platforms.

Using their MediaCloud service, Deluxe assisted with the delivery of more than 200 hours of live television coverage from the 2018 FIFA World CupTM in addition to more than 50 live match broadcasts streamed via SBS’s digital platforms including The World Game website, SBS On Demand and the 2018 FIFA World CupTM apps.

Noel Leslie, SBS Chief Technology Officer, said: “The past four weeks have truly showcased SBS as Australia’s spiritual home of football and we’re proud to have brought Australians our most comprehensive multiplatform coverage of any sporting event we’ve delivered to date across television, radio and digital platforms.

“Audiences expect the best possible viewing across multiple platforms and the solutions provided by Deluxe have helped deliver a seamless experience, increase efficiency and optimise the value of our broadcast operations.”

SBS migrated to Deluxe in December 2016 to deliver greater flexibility and agility for its broadcast operations. SBS’s recent decision to extend simulcasting of international football to Australian audiences has highlighted the operational capabilities of Deluxe MediaCloud to simplify broadcast and playout services.

“Deluxe MediaCloud is the world’s first end to end IP and cloud-based broadcast platform providing various playout services for SBS channels across Australia as well as supporting new innovative channel partners in Asia. Using next-generation cloud-based and virtualised solutions, Deluxe is helping broadcasters reinvent their businesses and enabling services where traditional technologies have found it hard to compete.” said David Radoczy, General Manager, Deluxe MediaCloud.

A transformational service for traditional broadcasters and new providers with all the advantages of a fully converged broadcast and IT enabled platform, Deluxe MediaCloud can be deployed as a fully outsourced service or offered as a Platform-As-A-Service (PAAS). Deluxe MediaCloud is part of Deluxe’s ongoing development of cloud-based solutions to simplify content creation and distribution, most recently having launched Deluxe One, a cloud-based platform that unifies Deluxe’s gold-standard products and services.
