EAGAN, MN—December 18, 2017—Scantron Corporation, a leading, national provider of managed IT, managed print and hardware services, today announced the acquisition of WRK Systems, Inc., a comprehensive technology services provider that designs, manages and supports IT infrastructure, in addition to implementing and managing cost effective cloud computing solutions. WRK Systems’ capabilities complement the more than 40 years of technology services experience currently offered by Scantron while providing additional expertise for small-to-medium sized businesses in the financial services and healthcare sectors.
Scantron has experienced significant growth in its Technology Services business and has been focused on expanding its managed IT services in recent years. To further accelerate this growth, Scantron acquired P&L Technologies, Inc. in 2016 and has continued to explore additional acquisitions. By acquiring WRK Systems, Inc., the company further strengthens its position as a pre-eminent technology services provider in the U.S.
“We are excited to have the talented WRK team join our organization. Our shared values centering on providing outstanding customer service and their experience with small-to-medium sized businesses will add to Scantron’s growing talent base,” said Kevin Brueggeman, Scantron CEO. “As we continue to deliver superior technology services, Scantron has been actively engaged in an acquisition strategy that maximizes our current product portfolio while expanding our footprint to better serve new industries and customer needs. This acquisition supports that strategy by giving Scantron greater expertise and opportunities in the financial and healthcare sectors, while bolstering our commitment to clients in the Omaha region and across the nation.”
Scantron provides IT support to more than 10,000 customers nationally, services more than 300,000 pieces of equipment, and has technicians in 45 states. Having secured this second Omaha, NE-based company in a little over a year, Scantron is enhancing its powerful base of operations for its managed IT services, including enhanced management and support for cloud computing services that assists small to medium sized businesses with their IT infrastructure.
“We’ve seen strong growth in the past few years relating to technology services, both for Scantron and in the market,” said Jay Whitchurch, Scantron Executive Vice President Technology Services. “Through this and future acquisitions, Scantron is better able to provide superior services to its clients by adding new capabilities, and we are positioning the organization for long-term growth as we remind our clients and consumers everywhere of the breadth and depth of services offered by Scantron.”
“This is a great opportunity for WRK Systems, Inc. and our clients,” said Dave Ward President, WRK Systems, Inc. “The strong technological capabilities of the combined team will deliver powerful managed and professional services while improving technology performance for a broad range of clients. Together, we’ll bring proven single-source information technology support needs that optimize, manage and support IT networks with best-in-class high level technical team members.”
